If you need help turning your garden ideas into a plan that you or a landscape contractor can follow, I would be happy to work with you. I can help you whether it's refreshing an aging garden bed, spicing up a border, or designing a brand new garden. Depending on your interests, my work product may include a 2-dimensional design with existing structures and garden elements located on the plan, planting lists for each distinct garden areas, and instructions for contractors to facilitate bidding and installation.

Beautiful gardens and inviting landscapes don't happen on their own. They are designed and managed with care over the years. Garden managers monitor and take steps to ensure the health of the soil and plants. They write and follow maintenance plans that take into account plant growth, insect life cycle, weather patterns and other conditions. They add and remove plants in response to the external environment and client interest. They also hire and manage other service providers such as arborists and landscape contractors. Garden managers stay on top of the new developments in the field of horticulture and garden management. Please contact me if you feel your garden or landscape would benefit from a manager, whether one day a week or one day a quarter.

I provide an initial 60-90 minute consultation at no charge. If, after we meet and discuss the project, you wish to retain me I charge $60 an hour with an 8-hour minimum. Each project includes 2 hours to provide advice on installation and to address any post-installation issues. A typical urban front or back yard tends to be 8 hours while a full urban home landscape tends to be 12 hours. Commercial properties and public spaces vary. Complexity drives cost.
